Remember last week when Stephen Curry set a record in a game? He broke the NBA single-season 3-point record! To celebrate the historic feat, he launched an NFT collection that celebrates all of his made shots.
The “2974 Collection” launched Monday at 2974SC.com and it features a series of nonfungible tokens that are all numbered out of a total of 2,974 — the number of 3-point required to eclipse Ray Allen’s previous record! Each unique NFT is priced at $499 and 100% of profits will be given to the “Eat. Learn. Play” foundation Ayesha & her husband, Curry, established in 2019.
“I’m truly grateful to be able to share this moment with all of the fans, the entire Bay Area community and everyone who has supported me throughout the years,” Curry said.
Creating so many 3-pointers is no small feat, but luckily for Warriors fans, Steph Curry knows how to live up to the pressure and deliver.
Andrea, the college graduate that designed these 3-pointers for the game, used 2974 as her title in order to make a memorable impact. The pieces also include information about the game’s location and date so you can remember them easily for future reference.
Stephen Curry an ambassador of FTX
Stephen Curry has been announced as an ambassador for the cryptocurrency exchange FTX. He will be involved in the business and advising on futures and currency offerings, as well as help with promotion on the platform. In addition, he plans to hold a stake in the company. What does the FTX platform offer participants? Owners will be able to engage with the 2974 Collection of legendary professionals from this season, and also receive autographed memorabilia, tickets to games and whatnot. They’ll also get early access to certain parts of Curry Brand before anyone else.
Disney is launching its first GIFT of an NFT during their ICO! The owners will also get a bonus NFT by artist Floyd Norman, who was the first African-American animator to work at Disney. Norman contributed to numerous Disney films throughout his career & has received recognition for them. His awards and recognition span many different areas in the industry, including animation, science, and screenwriting.
Fan-favorite animations are coming back to NBA live in some of the most iconic moments from Curry’s career. Rewind back to Game 2 of the 2018 Finals, when he hit a jaw-dropping nine 3’s for a Warriors victory over Cleveland. His game-winning shot versus the Thunder in February of 2016 was a highlight. With less than a second left on the clock, he powered his way to the basket, passed by three defenders, and made it at the buzzer.
“I’m honored that two incredibly talented artists, Floyd Norman and Andrea McDonald, have been able to add their creative touches to my career,” Curry said.
Stephen Curry is planning on giving out two hundred NFTs who have helped him on his journey including professional educators, Warriors fans, college students, and coaches– he is even giving some to the SC30 team he has competed with. Other friends, mentors, and teammates are also in line for some sweet prizes.
While every moment in the award-winning NFT will be priced at $499 each, a special 2974/2974 NFT highlighting the record-breaking shot will go to the highest bidder for 72 hours only.
Curry’s foundation has been providing needed resources for many different families and youth in the Bay Area. They have refurbished local recreation centers and built basketball courts. They also provide meals, groceries, and books for the community.
