A Brazilian website reported that Apple iPhone will remove the SIM card slot from the iPhone 15. Following this, MacRumors reported that Apple is planning to release a line of iPhones without a SIM slot by September 2022.

The new report by Tech Radar reveals that the Apple has advised major U.S. carriers to prepare for the launch of eSIM-only smartphones by September 2022. It also says that Apple will be providing some iPhone 13 models from second quarter of 2022.

iPhone XS and iPhone XR devices now offer dual SIM card support. The new iOS 12.1 will let you use Double SIM with your mobile carrier.

If Apple remove a SIM slot, they will unlikely want to stop offering a dual SIM option. They might use digital hybrid SIM technology or find another way but it’s still unconfirmed.
