WhatsApp Starts Trials For In-App Cryptocurrency Payments In The US

Facebook now know as Meta recently started cryptocurrency payments in the US.

Meta is working on its crypto wallet NOVI, which has gained popularity since it launched six weeks ago.

Meta has rolled out a new pilot program that will let some people in the United States to SEND and RECEIVE cryptocurrency using Whatsapp.

WhatsApp is the most popular messaging service in over 100+ countries with over 2.5+ billion active users.

Payments are to be made using Pax Dollars, a US backed stable coin issued by Paxos. Pax dollar comes under the regulation of the New York State Department of financial services.

Currently in its trial stage, and A ‘limited number’ of people in the US, will be able to send and receive money from within their WhatsApp chat.
