Disney got its metaverse technology patent that links reality with AR

Disney got approval for a patent to produce interactive, personalized attractions in the metaverse. They would potentially be used at theme parks and other locations.

The company has been granted a new patent on December 28, 2021. This means they can now offer more incredible and immersive entertainment experiences to their visitors.

Now, visitors who come to Disney World & Disneyland, now experience an incredible virtual-world simulator very similar to games like Fortnite and Minecraft.

Scientists at Disney have developed a new holographic technology that tracks your mobile phone for providing you with personalised 3D projections on any object in the park.

With this, Disney is yet again showing its interest in the metaverse - virtual worlds that usually exist online.

“We’ll be able to connect the physical and digital worlds even more closely, allowing for storytelling, without boundaries in our own Disney Metaverse,” Chapek said.

“As we think about the future, interactive experiences that transcend a physical presence and a digital presence is exciting to us. They offer a new level of storytelling.” said Mandadi

“The experiences are perennial and unique to the individual, yet they're also social and connected." wrote Mandadi.
