Gaming platform built on blockchain, Crypto Gaming United (CGU), has announced a partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Josh Giddey — the company’s first-ever athlete partnership.
According to the NBA records, on Jan. 2, Giddey became the youngest player (19 years and 2 months) in history to record a triple-double. Compared to LaMelo Ball’s previous record (19 years and 10 months), his achievement is even more significant
The company Giddey has teamed up with CGU to produce new projects for the metaverse, including wearable tech and virtual events. One of the co-creations by both parties is a series of NFT wearables by Josh Giddey that he will be involved in designing alongside CGU.
This partnership with Giddey continues a growing list of NBA teams and players to participate in cryptocurrency. Recently, the Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Lakers have become involved in crypto.
Josh Giddey follows Michael Jordan in NFT Space
In December of 2021, legendary NBA player Michael Jordan also joined NFT Space. In the course of his career, Basketball Network was a six-time NBA Champion and has created a new company called Heir Inc.
Former NBA star, activist, and investor Baron Davis has also teamed up with Crypto.com to release a new NFT collection. He’s also promoting the newest generation of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, which he thinks is going to take over in the near future.
