Apparently, there’s a hamster that has been trading cryptocurrency since June and is doing better than Warren Buffett or the S&P 500.
We always thought hamsters could not live in cages because of their simple looks, but meet the “Mr. Goxx” who works out of what’s possibly the most high-tech hamster cage that you’ll ever see!
The program is designed to let you pick out cryptocurrencies by running on the hamster wheel. Next, he has to choose between two tunnels and based on the Twitch account for the hamster, this decision is sent to a real trading platform – and That’s true, I have a wealth of experience, no matter how much money is on the table.

I get it, there are many ways to make money. We’re not telling you to follow this hamster’s financial decisions, but this process is very effective. I’m not going to tell you who owns this account because secrecy is important.
But what we know for a fact is his portfolio has increased by nearly 20% since he started trading in June, as shown on his Twitter account. And, as of Sept. 12th, Goxx stocks have been doing so well, better than other stocks in fact, and beat out Berkshire Hathaway and the S&P 500.
The approach to investment that Goxx takes is certainly not systematic but it does provide a relevant reminder that the sources we take financial advice from are changing.
In the past, people have been using the app TikTok to get tips from them and from kids in Baltimore.
And more recently, stock-picking on Wall Street has been done by bots. NPR’s Planet Money even built a bot in 2017 that invested money based on President Donald Trump’s tweets.
